Mips® air node:safe, lightweight and ventilated
The Mips® Air Node system has been designed to protect against rotational impacts. In the event of an impact, particularly an oblique one, your head may undergo a sudden and violent rotation, a common cause of concussions.
The Mips® Air Node is an integrated, discreet solution that allows for slight movement of the helmet relative to your head.It remains fixed during normal use and only activates in the event of an impact, dissipating rotational energy to reduce the risk of injury.
The helmet of the pros
This RCR-F helmet has been chosen by the DECATHLON CMA CGM professional team for flat or rolling stages.
Security
Because choosing a helmet is above all for safety reasons, this helmet meets all the most demanding impact standards.
It complies with the European regulation EN1078.
This standard covers the following aspects: construction, including field of vision, shock absorption properties, retention system features including the chinstrap and tightening devices, and marking and information.
Sizes & weight
RCR-F
size S: 52-55 cm 260 g
size M: 55-59 cm 300 g
size L: 59-62 cm 350 g
Please note that this helmet features the MIPS system. This system slightly modifies the size grid, so if you are at the upper end of the size range, we recommend choosing one size up.
Why mips® air node
Air Node is the most advanced protection solution from Mips®
Its advantages:
Lightweight and well-ventilated:perforated and designed not to impede airflow.
Comfort:no pressure points.
Smart protection:only activates upon impact to deflect rotational forces.
Ventilation
A helmet's ventilation is optimal when large entrances for air are connected to exits via canals that let the air circulate. The head is an essential component for cooling the body during intensive effort.
The evacuation of the heat generated is thus a priority for maintaining a high level of performance.
Ventilation and aerodynamics
Poorly placed ventilation can, on the other hand, generate a great loss of aerodynamic performance by significantly increasing drag.
The RCR-F air vents have been placed in high pressure zones that do not affect the helmet's aerodynamics.
The three internal channels are wide and deep to ensure optimal airflow.
This helmet was developed in a wind tunnel over many hours to make it one of the fastest helmets in the professional peloton.
How long helmets last
Helmets don't last forever. To ensure maximum safety, we recommend replacing your helmet at least every 5 to 7 years. It is important to store it in its case, in a dry, cool place away from sunlight.
Extreme temperatures will deteriorate the helmet's foam more quickly.
If your helmet suffers a large impact, it's essential that you change it as there could be internal cracks that would prevent it from working properly.
Fcr
The RCR-F range, which stands for Fast Racer, is the product range that focuses on aerodynamics. It's designed for cyclists for whom every second counts. These products refuse to compromise on performance.
The RCR-F helmet has been designed to work with the VR (Road 900) glasses, whose arms will clip neatly into the helmet.
Return conditions (specific to ppe)
This helmet is personal protective equipment (PPE), so its protection will depend on the condition of your helmet.
We can only accept helmets returned in new condition. If your helmet doesn't suit you, please return it with the user guide and tags.
