Professional cycling is reaching unprecedented speeds. It is fascinating for the sport, but the statistics are stubborn: the WorldTour records a +25% increase in injuries every year. Equipment has evolved, but the human body remains vulnerable. Faced with this reality, VAN RYSEL made a choice: remaining a mere spectator was no longer an option. Action had to be taken.

1 year of research in the shadows

For over a year, the brand's engineers have been pursuing an ambitious idea: integrating an airbag directly into a racing skinsuit. What is unveiled today is not yet a finished product; it is a first rideable draft. A proof of concept that embodies the ultimate calling of the project: "Zero Compromise". Protecting vital areas, without ever slowing down the athlete.

For the technological core of this development, the project relies on recognized expertise. A partnership was forged with the world leader in wearable airbag protection: In&motion. Already proven in the extreme conditions of MotoGP, this technology provides a vital database. 1000 ANALYSES / SECOND: 6 sensors track posture in real time. 60 MILLISECONDS: The deployment time to protect the collarbones and thorax in the event of a crash.

The beginning of the journey

The technological validation of the airbag is confirmed. But for this skinsuit to meet the extreme demands of the professional peloton, the project now enters the most extensive testing phase in VAN RYSEL's history. Here is what comes next:

    The ultimate test. In the coming weeks, riders from the Decathlon CMA CGM team will test the prototype during training.
